Description
Thrunton Wood
This is a short walk around part of the beautiful Thrunton Wood, North of Rothbury. The Forestry Commission manages the Wood.
Unfortunately it was substantially devastated by Storm Arwen, meaning only a small part is open still.

Start
We will leave the car park and walk up into the wood and following the sections which are open, unfortunately most of Thrunton is still closed due to Forestry works.
It is quite eerie and really interesting to see the devastation that Storm Arwen wreaked on Thrunton Wood.
We will finish the walk by following the access roads back through the wood to the car park but visiting some lovely places on the way, especially the place with this view.
After the Walk
Thrunton Woods Tearoom has only been reopened for a couple of months and as always we have tried it out. We will visit here after the walk.
We hope you can join us.
