Description
Bull Crag from Leaplish

Bull Crag is a large peninsula that protrudes into Kielder Reservoir. Beginning at Leaplish, the walk takes us out around the peninsula. We get great views of the lake and the areas around it, whilst walking along the edges of the beautiful Kielder Forest.

The start
We start at Leaplish Car Park. This is to the west of the lake, and is home of the Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre and Waterside Park. From here we will take the Lakeside Way to Bull Crag.

Freya’s Cabin
We will continue along the Lakeside Way onto the peninsula. Our first stop will be at Freya’s Cabin. This is one of the places in the tale of Freya and Robin. We have visited Robin’s Hut in previous walks.
The Headland

We will stop for a break at The Headland. This gives us a panoramic view of the other parts of the reservoir.
From here we make our way back along the south side of Bull Crag and then retrace our footsteps to Leaplish.
Hope to see you there,
Julie and Martin x
