The Thrunton Wood walk was the second walk of January, as Allen Banks had to be cancelled. The weather was perfect, cold but very sunny.
The start
There were plenty of people out to enjoy Thrunton Wood on such a beautiful day. This made parking a bit difficult. There was large group of walkers meeting there, as well as many mountain bikers.
We managed to get parked and waited for the other walking group to leave, before we set off.

Thrunton Crag

After a short climb, we reached Thrunton Crag. There are great views over the lower parts of Thrunton Wood and the countryside north of the Wood, as you can see below.

We continued on along the top of Thrunton Crag before turning South, to follow a path towards the southern edge of the Wood. This winds around Coe Hill. We had to negotiate several trees, that had been brought down by Storm Éowyn.

The end
We ended the walk at Thrunton Woods Tearoom. This is a great little tearoom, just down the hill from the car park. We mostly enjoyed the delicious toasties.

Hope you all enjoyed the walk. See you next time.
