Swarland Wood is situated on the edge of the village of Swarland south of Alnwick. The wood has a mix of tree varieties and we may even spot some deer. There are a number of paths through the wood and we can also access Stretton Wood via a path through the Percy Wood Golf Course.

A lovely flat walk with a great tea room at the end.

Great lesson in Nordic walking

4th November 2024

This morning, my daughter and I took part in an introduction to Nordic walking with Julie. We had a fabulous day, Julie was great fun and a good teacher, can’t wait to join in with some walks. We also borrowed some poles to practice with which was so generous of them -this is a lovely way to get out and enjoy the countryside whilst hopefully improving your fitness

Great introductory lesson to Nordic walking.

I attended the session at Wallington run by Julie and Martin..

My mobility has deteriorated due to a health condition and I’m always looking for ways to keep active in the outdoors.

They both have an enthusiastic passion for Nordic walking and are great ambassadors for the activity.

I really enjoyed the session which was informative, instructive and fun .

I even came away with 2 sets of borrowed poles to try out in my own time.
