Description
Bolam Lake and Shaftoe Crags
This walk follows a route that takes in the areas of Bolam Lake and Shaftoe Crags. It starts in the charming Bolam Lake Country Park. We walk past the lake and then head out of the park towards the South West. Shaftoe Crags will be visible right up until we reach them.
Shaftoe Crags offers spectacular views of the Tyne valley and the surrounding countryside. The rocks at Shaftoe Crags show some interesting rock art, alongside more modern grafitti that has been carved in to the rock for decades. We will stop for lunch here, so bring a picnic.
We will continue on round to the North East, past Salters Nick, returning to Bolam Lake Country Park via a different route.
