Description
Bamburgh and Budle Bay
One of Julie’s favourite walks. This is a lovely walk taking in both Bamburgh and Budle Bay. Bamburgh Castle is one of the iconic landmarks of the Northumberland Coast. It is a must see when visiting this area. Just round the corner from here is Budle Bay, a beautiful tidal bay, where seabirds feed.

Start
We will start in one of the beach car parks to the North of Bamburgh and take the coastal path round to Budle Bay. This will provide spectacular views of the coastline and out to sea.
Harkness Rocks
On the way to Budle Bay, we will pass Harkness Rocks. There is a lighthouse on Blackrocks Point, that most people will be familiar with, as it is probably the second most photographed building in this area. Obviously, the first is the Castle itself. Another interesting feature of Harkness Rocks is the painting of a stag on the rocks.
Budle Point
Before we head inland, we will descend towards the beach. There are several WW2 structures around this bay but the building at this point is actually a remnant of when this bay was an active port.
Back to Bamburgh
Just past the bay we will turn back follow the England Coast Path back to Bamburgh.
The End
At the end of the walk we will head back into the village to either the Copper Kettle or The Castle pub.
It is a beautiful walk and we hope to see you there.
